Chef Dragan Susa’s new menu is out and as always, it doesn’t disappoint. As usual, Dragan’s pull-apart double cheese and rosemary bread, which we always look forward to, is the first topic of conversation at the table, especially for those who are experiencing their first Kouzina supper club.
To start, we were served Dragan’s Sea Bream Crudo with avocado mousse and mandarin citrus dressing, which is actually not a part of this menu, just a bonus! It was light, it was fresh, and it was ever so tasty. The tomato and horseradish mascarpone salad with herbs, spring onion, sherry vinegar, and Georgian sunflower oil is such a gorgeous combo of distinct and complementary flavours. The horseradish really accentuates the mascarpone. Be sure to save some of that pull apart bread for this, because you’re going to want to mop up all the remaining dressing and oil from the plate.
The Fish en Papillote was succulent cod this evening, with fennel, cherry tomatoes, garlic, lemon zest, parsley and dill, which smelt amazing with all those lovely aromas that have steamed together in the oven. However, the star of the show on this menu was the Sarma stuffed with beef, rice, and sour cabbage, served on an incredible parsnip purée and topped with bonito flakes to give it a smokey finish. This is by far the best sarma we’ve had to date – it was fantastic!
If you like custard, you are going to love the Cremeschnitte dessert with raspberry, lime and mint jam, topped with puff pastry. It’s a heavenly glass of creamy custard with delicate accents.
Dragan Susa’s 5 course supper club is one of the best for value at AED295 with superb execution each time. You will not leave this supper club hungry, the portions are generous and hearty, and you will very much feel well fed. It is after all, exactly what his Kouzina is all about!
