HAUS OF VO | Christmas Menu

This review is a little late, but this experience is not at all forgotten and one you may have seen on our stories a few weeks back. Haus of Vo is another wonderful, and fairly new, supper club to try in Dubai which can be classified under fine dining. Lisa Vo is a beautiful soul of Vietnamese descent with a background having grown up in Germany. She clearly loves hosting, and is accompanied by her sweet canine rescue Bailey, who will without a doubt steal the limelight with her soulful eyes and gentle nature!

We booked Lisa’s Christmas 5-course menu, in which she put 101% into each detail of her home, that boasts a stunning night-time Dubai skyline view overlooking the Museum of the Future and Sheikh Zayed Road. A YouTube fireplace flickered on the TV, gentle Christmas tunes played in the background, and a beautifully adorned table by Hosted by You was the setting for our festive menu treat. Aperitifs were served with homemade flat breads, dip and crudités which we settled down with to meet the rest of the evening’s guests.

The starter was a Seafood Bisque en Croute which we could have eaten twice over and then some, followed by a beautifully presented dish of Steamed Mussels in Butter and Sake. The Intermezzo was a delicate and fragrant homemade (sans machine) Pear Sorbet to cleanse the palate, which was truly excellent! The Duck Breast with Cinnamon-spiced Apples in a Portwine Glaze was a wonderful change to some of the more traditional Christmas poultry choices, and these succulent medallions were tasty and moreish with their condiments.

The Chef’s Dessert was a grand finale of waffles with raspberries and white chocolate sauce, beautifully paired with rose ice cream that perfectly rounded off the textures and flavours of this gorgeous dessert. We will definitely be trying more of Madam Vo’s menus in the new year and following her updates closely.
